Public Plea for Legal Advocates, Police, and Citizens to Investigate Tomas Szuchewyczâs Longest Ballot Committee in Carleton
I call on Canadians, legal advocates, police, and social media users to demand expert analysis of whether Tomas Szuchewycz and his Longest Ballot Committeeâs actions in the 2025 Carleton election constitute election interference under the Canada Elections Act for a potential class action litigation.
Szuchewyczâs protest, flooding Carletonâs ballot with 85 of 91 candidates, disrupted democracy. Share this plea to seek accountability.
Key concerns:
- Taxpayer Costs: The metre-long ballot spiked Elections Canadaâs expenses, requiring extra ballot boxes, special trucks, extra fuel costs, and early counting, burdening taxpayers.
-Voter Barriers: The complex ballot confused seniors and other voters, with residents like Sandy Tucker reporting lost independence. Chief @ElectionsCan_E Officer Stéphane Perrault warned of accessibility issues.
-Non-Local Candidates: Many of Szuchewyczâs 85 candidates, like Michael Bednarski (Toronto) and Richard Rowat (Quebec), live far from Carleton, unaware of its location, and didnât campaign, suggesting deliberate disruption.
-Interference Risk: The ballotâs delays and confusion may violate Section 281(g) âelection interference.â Targeting Pierre Poilievreâs Carleton but sparing Mark Carneyâs riding raises bias concerns.
Legal experts, RCMP, and electoral scholars: Assess if Szuchewyczâs actions broke laws or warrant lawsuits. Did non-local candidates violate Section 281(g)? Can taxpayers seek damages? Do accessibility harms breach fairness laws?
Szuchewyczâs prior protests (91 candidates in LaSalleâĂmardâVerdun, 84 in Toronto) delayed results and also had complaints of confusion and accessibility problems and added burdensome costs to taxpayers, showing a pattern.
No direct legal precedents exist, but the Commissioner of Canada Elections and RCMP can investigate.
Act Now:
đđ»Experts & Police: Commit to analyse and report to the Canadian Public by May 15, 2025.
đđ»Citizens: Share on X and other socials #ElectionInterference
