On 05/17/76 in Nashville, Jimmy Carter briefly attended a show put on by the Charlie Daniels Band before hopping on a 10 PM flight to Little Rock.
The band’s track, “The South’s Gonna Do It”, was used as Jimmy Carter’s campaign song. #Carter50

One of the most important days of the 1976 Carter campaign was 5/4/1976, the Georgia Democratic Presidential primary. His crew stayed at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta to watch results come in. He won the primary with 83.44% of the votes. #Carter50
