Protecting aquifers is key to sustainability, yet contamination from latrines threatens groundwater. In Nakuru, the Kabatini water fields supply 40% of the cityโs water.
To safeguard it, NAWASSCO & @VEI_NL via the #CatchmentToTap project are using biodigesters to:

๐๐ Proud to support and partner with @WWF_Kenya @NakuruWater in ensuring clean water access and aquifer rehabilitation that will benefit a lifeline for 300,000+ Nakuru County residents through a grant under the #CatchmentToTap (C2T) project. @WorldWaternet @egertonunikenya
Today @WWF_Kenya issued a grant of Ksh.13 Million to @NakuruWater (NAWASSCO), in Nakuru to restore the Kabatini aquifer, which provides 90% of the water supplied by NAWASSCO to over 300,000 Nakuru County residents. The grant will also support the rehabilitation of two springs in Nesuit that will boost access to clean water for 400 households in the county.๐

The initiative was made possible by the Catchment to Tap (C2T) project, which is funded by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, aims at promoting water security across the country.
Together with other partners, namely World Waternet, Viten-Evides International, KEWASNET, and Egerton University, C2T is creating awareness among the public on water conservation while providing a unique opportunity for Kenyans through grants to act.
