So basically, this is part of OFFICIAL NIGERIAN CURRICULUM for teaching Social Studies (in primary school) and Security and Civic Education in Secondary School.
Who do we need to sue because this is not okay.

@IjeomaOgood I was helping my mom to mark her pupils' CA workbooks and I came across this. I couldn't even continue marking. I was taken aback
#funtheory let's get a bit more of this in education. Developing habits through #fun #changethecurriculum
@DrMaddi1 @DrWendland @LaurenBaggley @CathLowther
We can develop healthier habits for others by introducing more fun
The education system in the UK is an antiquated joke. The curriculum is not equipping children for this day and age. Instead of having compulsory algebra on the curriculum, our kids should be taught how to run a business, how to critically think, or trade.

If you want to succeed in life you have to go against 3 narratives;
1. The government
2. The education system
3. The retirement system
None of those systems serve you. They bleed you. & they force your children to fail financially.

Both the #educationwhitepaper & #senreview lack any thought for relational & emotional aspects of learning, the need to develop joy in teaching & learning + the social & cultural capital that we should be valuing in school communities.

Reflection #5
Primary school assessments are going ahead 'as normal' this summer.
A 6 or 7 year old in Yr 2 is yet to experience a 'normal' year in school.
A child in Yr 6 last had an undisrupted year in Yr 3.
These aren't normal circumstances.
We should invest more & test less.

@JulianElliott11 @MattHancock Totally agree. We also need to keep in mind reading development & other systemic factors, including covid.
Testing & labelling is not the answer...a flexible & enjoyable approach to literacy is key & as @charley0911 said proper #funding

@edpsydan I do think a wider discussion is needed about whether EHCP process is meaningful & fit for purpose. What EPs could do is look at education in a more systemic way & wonder why so many children need plans? #changethecurriculum

We need to build a better system rather than making children & young people think they need to do all the work

Children & young people do not need to #catchup on #lostlearning
What is needed is a complete rethink of the education system so it is fit for purpose
This is an opportunity for innovation
Don't throw ££s at #catchup to an outdated #curriculum

So I've been doing it wrong all this time pala.
Dapat pala pa-square lang ang pagcut ng nails guys. Wag i-cut yung sa gilid ng nails kasi yun ang cause ng ingrown.

Perhaps assessment money should stay in schools and teacher based assessments continue...? Alongside a complete overhaul of the curriculum and #education system of course. #moneytalks #changethecurriculum #twittereps @AEPsychologists
