A - Arm Weakness

Very low haemoglobin concentration (or PCV) levels
High white blood cell counts
Increased frequency of getting pain crises (including acute chest syndrome)

About 3 - 4 % of people living with SCD (children and adults) have had a CVA / stroke
By the age of 20 years old, up to 10% of people with SCD would have had a stroke.

1. 𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐎𝐊𝐄 is a complication of Sickle Cell disease and it is also known as C𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐨 𝐯𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭
It is caused by Loss of blood supply to an area in the brain or rupture of one of the blood vessels in the brain
