Since Sakamoto has entered the scene to interfere or stop the situation, I see four possible scenarios unfolding after chapter 244:
1. Kanaguri vs. Sakamoto (Round Two)
Kanaguri may confront Sakamoto again for interfering with his “movie.” In this setup, Akira becomes a victim of her own actions after provoking Takamura Uzuki—bluntly stating that her Aunt Rion is dead, regardless of how Uzuki would react. I understand where Akira is coming from emotionally, but both she and Kei are at fault here.
Akira’s actions escalated far beyond her actual strength. The gap between her and Takamura Uzuki was massive, turning her not into a heroine, but into a sacrifice—An illusion Kanaguri deliberately constructed to recreate Rion Akao’s tragic death—an accident that traumatized Uzuki and locked him in grief, loneliness, deep pain, and despair for over a decade. Though fully aware that Rion is dead, Kei remains unable to accept the reality of losing Rion from his life.
In this scenario, Kanaguri may lose control and attempt to kill Sakamoto on the spot for ruining his film. Either Kanaguri is killed, or he is incapacitated especially since Sakamoto is restrained by his promise to Aoi, unable to kill without risking his marriage and confronting his fear of abandonment.
2. Takamura Uzuki Eliminates Everyone
Takamura Uzuki may kill Sakamoto outright for interfering. Interpreting the situation as a conspiracy involving Kanaguri, Akira, and Sakamoto, he could decide to eliminate all of them.
This mirrors Takamura in the museum—standing undefeated against multiple opponents due to his ruthless nature. That same merciless mindset now exists within Kei Uzuki, who has embodied Takamura’s role: eradicating anyone who stands in his path without hesitation.
3. Torres’ Involvement and the Father Theory
If Sakamoto is present, there’s a possibility Torres followed him. While I don’t expect much from Torres directly, I strongly suspect he may be Kei Uzuki’s biological father.
Why is Torres so obsessed with repaying a 60.2 billion yen loan to the JAA? No ordinary person acquires that high amount without corruption or bribery involved, regardless of whether they earn through a commission-based or fixed income profession. In Kei’s past arc, Asaki mentioned he never wanted to let Kei escape from his grasp, from the JAA, and from the orphanage—binding him to it, enslaving his entire life with no chance of freedom or peace to choose his own path.
Kei grew up in an orphanage, which implies he was placed there as an infant. My theory is that Torres, desperate and deeply indebted, gave up his unnamed child (Kei Uzuki) in exchange for money. Asaki’s privileged family took Kei in—not as family, but as property. At the time, Asaki himself was still a child and Kei was only a baby. I speculate that Asaki’s parents wanted another child so Asaki would have a younger brother, not out of responsibility or care, but as someone he could control and manipulate. This would explain Asaki’s intimidating demeanor and Kei’s hostile behavior toward him later on. Kei’s innocence was stripped away through brutal psychological conditioning from that point onward. Asaki claimed it was “special training,” meant to force Kei to abandon his emotions and become ruthless in both heart and mind. However, Kei resisted this completely. Despite the cruelty he grew up with and being trained as assassin since childhood, he still retained a kind soul—one that reached out to others, especially the children who were a hopeless victims of abuse and injustice at that time.
Atari sensing extreme bad luck from Torres supports this. That misfortune isn’t about gambling—it’s tied to a past crime. Torres may not recognize Kei yet, but a physical clue—a birthmark, perhaps—could trigger the truth to protect or shield Kei in his terrible situation caused by Kanaguri. Whether Torres chooses redemption or silence out of shame remains uncertain.
This is speculation, but the clues are present in their dialogues throughout the manga, and it ultimately depends on whether Suzuki chooses to fully reveal Kei’s childhood trauma or back story from the beginning beyond the past arc that only covers his adolescence.
4. Kei vs. Sakamoto
Kei may confront Sakamoto directly, driven by rage, grief, loss, and revenge, potentially killing him at the cost of his own life. However, this would deny Kei the closure or his peaceful death he truly seeks.
Sakamoto might attempt to negotiate—offering to take over the JAA while asking Kei to step down. This is a flawed solution. The JAA itself is the root of all evil; anyone who sits on that throne becomes corrupted.
Kei is different. He never wanted to rule—only to destroy and bomb the JAA headquarters completely as part of his original plan, making it disappear from the earth's surface. His goal aligns with Rion’s vision of kindness. His extreme actions, regardless of the cost, are driven by that ideal: to dismantle a corrupted system, seize control of key infrastructure—such as transportation hubs and institutions—controlled by a puppet government that has effectively been overtaken by the JAA through cruel agreements and weak leadership from the puppet prime minister.
In Kei’s view, the corrupted system has conditioned society into moral decay, where kindness, goodness, and even clear notions of right and wrong are eroded—leaving everything to fall under the same category of evil. No one is exempt unless they confront the truth themselves where the only option is to pick up their weapon given to them and fight and prove themselves worthy of living in the new world Kei seeks to create for the future. Ultimately, Kei's objective is to erase the assassins entirely, even if achieving that goal requires sacrificing himself as part of his redemption in the future.
Kei intends to destroy the JAA along with his own existence, ensuring no new cycle of violence can be born. However, his death would ignite his allies. The remaining AL Kamar friends like Gozu, including the returning friends like Gaku, Tenkyu, and Kumanomi would fully unleash their power, avenging Kei by eradicating Sakamoto’s group entirely—leaving no survivors.
That said, their confrontation here on chapter 244 feels too early and rushed. It doesn’t align with the pacing needed for a final, satisfying conclusion. From my perspective, there are still many dark truths that need to be uncovered and brought into the light, along with several major revelations—especially within Kei’s faction, the X Organization—before everything can truly be resolved. Otherwise, the narrative risks missing its deeper point and becoming shallow.
I’m not sure how others feel about this, but that’s how I see it. I’m already aware of Kei’s fate, and I’ve prepared myself and my heart for it. Still, this confrontation feels too sudden, as if it doesn’t fully honor the intentions and unresolved conflicts between Kei and Sakamoto before they ultimately part ways.

#sakamotodays #chapter244 #spoiler
I’m not sure if I’ll be happy with the latest Sakamoto Days chapter 244. The confrontation between “fat” Sakamoto and Kei feels forced and rushed, largely because of Kanaguri’s selfish motives tied to his movie. As I predicted, Kanaguri never intended to help Akira. He wanted her to become a victim for his film someone the public would pity while she fought to the brink of death against Takamura Uzuki.
Takamura Uzuki himself feels like a lost man. Something was triggered inside him, causing his rage to surface, and now he’s cutting down everyone in his path—especially those who mocked his departed family. That anger is why he’s acting the way he is. Akira, in this situation, owes an apology. But at the same time, Kei isn’t entirely blameless either. I can’t fully fault him—he’s a deeply broken person, and I understand his pain but none of this would have escalated without Kanaguri’s provocation. He deliberately used Akira, fueling her resentment and directing it toward Uzuki, provoking him and driving him further into his rage all so his movie would flourish and gain public attention. In truth, his intention was never to save Akira, but to sacrifice her, to turn her into a tragic figure just like her aunt, using her death to make his film feel “real” and unforgettable.
Honestly, I think Akira should be taken under Sakamoto’s protection permanently and kept away from Uzuki. This battle was never hers to begin with. She’s feeding her own pain in a way that’s deeply unjust and unfair, and it’s tearing her character apart. That’s not the path her Aunt would have wanted for her. Rion wanted Akira to abandon revenge, because anger alone won’t change anything especially when the situation was never under Akira’s control in the first place.
Akira needs distance—from the X Organization and from all of this chaos—to protect her peace. She needs to reflect seriously on her actions. Letting anger dominate won’t resolve anything, especially when the situation itself is already fueled by rage. Kei stepped into this chaos because he was deceived, lied to, and betrayed by Kanaguri—someone who committed treason within his own organization and against Kei personally. Worse, Kanaguri is recreating Rion’s death scene that deeply enraged Kei to kill him thoroughly.
What I mean is this: saying something as blunt and provocative as “Rion is dead” is not just careless—it’s cruel. It’s as if you’re declaring that her existence never mattered in Kei’s life. And doing so is practically an invitation to your own death. It doesn’t mean Kei is unaware of Rion’s death—he knows. He witnessed it with his own eyes. But the pain is so raw and unbearable that even now, he cannot accept it.
Rion’s death was profoundly unjust. Kei was never prepared for it, and that trauma shattered him. That injustice is what drove him to turn his anger toward everyone who made them victims—toward the society and toward Asaki, who used them as tools for their own ends. Rion was allowed to move on to the afterlife, while Kei was left behind—rising from the grave, forced to continue living with that pain.
For Kei, the fight was never over. It became his purpose to bring down everyone who manipulated him and Rion, who turned their lives against their will into something tragic and cruel—something they never chose and were never prepared to endure.
I’m not sure what will happen next, but I don’t believe this confrontation between Kei and Sakamoto is the final battle. It feels premature. Sakamoto still doesn’t know the full truth about Akao’s death. Eventually, he’ll learn that her death was primarily caused by Asaki—whom Kei killed—not by Kei himself. And once Akira tells Sakamoto about the year Rion and Kei spent together while on the run, and about their relationship that developed from their special bond as accomplices and mutual trust, it will become clear just how wrong Sakamoto’s accusations against Kei were from the very beginning.

They finally cross paths! 🤩
