NEWS | Videos & Reels Banned Within 50m Of Char Dhams In Uttarakhand
The #Uttarakhand government has issued a notification on May 17 banning #videography and #reels for social media within a 50-metre radius of the #CharDhams in Uttarakhand.
The ban was imposed as the administration noticed the devotees facing inconvenience due to people shooting videos on temple premises.
The notification by the Uttarakhand Chief Secretary stated, "The state government has made arrangements for systematic darshan of pilgrims, but at present it has been noticed that some persons are doing videography/reel for social media in the temple premises, which causes inconvenience to the devotees due to crowd gathering at one place in the temple premises to see the said videography. Therefore, keeping in view the convenience of the devotees, videography/reel for social media within a radius of 50 meters of the temple premises in Char Dhams is banned."
The Char Dhams in Uttarakhand include the four holy sites of #Yamunotri, #Gangotri, #Kedarnath, and #Badrinath temples.

The #Uttarakhand government on Thursday decided not to allow VIP darshan at the #Chardhams—#Kedarnath, #Yamunotri, #Badrinath and #Gangotri—through the rest of the month due to the huge rush of devotees at the #Himalayan #temples.
There will be no arrangements for #VIPdarshan at the Chardhams till May 31 and offline registration in Haridwar and Rishikesh will remain closed till May 19, Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said in a letter to her counterparts in all states and Union Territories.
