Serious proper research and hedging your bets. Myself at 20 is 6 years ago. I’ll myself “keep being you, keep improving, doing your best in everything and don’t doubt yourself too much”. #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
Ah I see, so proper market research? Thank you💰! Final question, if you could go back and talk to yourself at 20 years old, what advice will you give yourself? @TheTobiSmith #GROWchat #ChatwithTobi
You get me! So far, I’ve not had any major disappointments. Maybe minor when a dish doesn’t come out as I expected. Overall, I’m super grateful for every experience. I love to see every situation as a lesson. #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
Always so nice when you look back and see how far you’ve come, repeat customers also show you’re definitely doing something right☺️. @TheTobiSmith what has your biggest disappointment been? #GROWchat #ChatwithTobi
@GrowPlatform @TheTobiSmith Hello @TheTobiSmith I’m just tuning into the #growchat #chatwithtobi and I just want to ask what you do to stay current on new trends as the food industry evolves rapidly.
Another is finally learning how to cost Nigerian food recipes and being able to use Excel spreadsheets for kitchen work. It sounds random but I’m excited anytime food and accounting cross paths for me. #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
Phew! There’s a lot. Going from developing recipes in our test kitchen to feeding them to over 500 people has been one huge one for me and also having repeat clients/customers is another. #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
Very apt! “Feedback is gold”, I’ll never forget that. What are some of your greatest accomplishments? @TheTobiSmith #GROWchat #ChatwithTobi
More advice: always strive to be perfect, learn your recipes, retest your recipes, know your food costing, tey your best to be consistent always, always learn something new everyday in your area of food and try to keep your food cost reasonable always 😅 #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi

Another is “feedback is gold”. As a good person you need to know how to get and how to use feedback. Also, aiming to please your customer and building genuine relationships with them is very key. You may not be the best cook but you could be their fav one #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
Enjoying the conversation between @thetobismith and @growplatform, I’ve always wanted to ask this, please how do you control the quality of the food that goes out to clients?
#GROWchat #ChatwithTobi
This is an endless list really and I’ve lost count. I’ll need a 20 tweet thread to@do this. The reason why I look up to any chef is what they do with ingredients and how they present it. I appreciate chefs that tell stories and present art on their plates #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
@GrowPlatform @TheTobiSmith I just wanna know if you have a favorite chef that you look up to, who it is and why 😅
This! I agree that you don’t have to do everything by yourself and a great business partner can make all the difference! #TakingNotes #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
It’s important to note that these are two very different things that should be tested as such. One can be a an amazing chef/cook but a horrible business person. Most times I advise people to get a partner that understands the business part of things. #GROWchat #ChatWithTobi

We love to see it! The importance of personal development cannot be overstressed🙌🏽. Can you please take us through the business vs the creative aspect of a chef’s work? @TheTobiSmith #GROWchat #ChatwithGROW
merlot, chardonnay and Cabernets. These three work with a lot of dishes (Nigerian influenced too) and gives the right balance with them. Also they are crowd favorites in most settings #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
@GrowPlatform @TheTobiSmith I’m enjoying the tweetchat @growplatform and @thetobismith, please what are three wines you love to combine with meals and why? #GROWchat #ChatwithTobi
Sometimes people ask me if I’d ever still go to culinary school. Maybe just for fun, maybe not. It’s a question of if I have the time and also the $$ to do it. #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
I didn’t attend culinary school. Most of my development came from working in so many kitchens, managing various back of house (kitchen) operations, learning from trained chefs and also a TON of self learning. #GROWChat #ChatWithTobi
That could honestly not have been easy, well done!! So, did you attend culinary school or was your development through on the job training? @TheTobiSmith #GROWchat #ChatwithTobi

Sometimes I miss it for a split second. But the truth is when juggling so many things, it sometimes hard to give each area 100%. Best move is to pick what you absolutely love, don’t mind giving 100% always and can also sustain you. #GROWchat #ChatwithTobi
Today’s topic is ‘A career in the kitchen space’ and the hashtags we would be using this evening are #GROWchat and #ChatwithTobi 🥘
Hey everyone, it’s time for the tweetchat with @TheTobiSmith, he’s a Chef and a Partner at Two Thirty-Four Kitchen, you’ve probably seen his meals on your timeline☺️😉
