Other #fireaviation aircraft pounding #chatridge2fire Monday 6-29-20. Not seen here: The very busy "Air Attack" crew aircraft, high above, coordinating the entire airborne effort against the fire. Truly amazing work by all.

Impressive array of #fireaviation resources deployed against #chatridge2fire in south metro #Denver Mon. #Copter4 shows @SouthMetroPIO & #cofire crews stopped advance of flames feet from homes while bracketing the with retardant lines. ~461 acres. No injuries or structures lost.

The flames of #Chatridge2Fire may be gone, but there is still a lot of work to do. Incident Management Team is hard at work. Goal for today; reinforce the containment lines, decreasing chance of any flare ups. Shout out to @RedCross for feeding the crew before they head out.

Update for #Chatridge2Fire No growth overnight, still 100% contained. Firefighters patrolled all night and encountered very quiet conditions. They used several hundred gallons of water on hot spots within the burn area. Additional crews will be working on extinguishment today.

Final evening update for the #Chatridge2Fire 4 wildland fire engines and crews will remain at the fire overnight patrolling. Glowing embers, light smoke and occasional flames should be expected within the fire perimeter. This is normal and more crews will be working tomorrow.


.@SouthMetroPIO recently tweeted that an electrical malfunction on a power pole sparked the #Chatridge2Fire. This utility crew is currently working on a power pole on the west side of the fire near Hwy 85. I would assume that this is the pole that started the fire.

Update - The #Chatridge2Fire is 100% contained. No structures damaged or destroyed and no injuries occurred. The cause remains under investigation. Evacuations for the Back Country will be lifted soon.
We are asking that citizens avoid the walking trails in the Back Country subdivision. Even though the #Chatridge2Fire is contained, there are still hotspots as well as crews in the area making sure nothing flares back up.

Red Cross of Colorado has closed the evacuation center at Thunder Ridge High School. The mandatory evacuation order prompted by the #Chatridge2Fire, has been lifted. Thank you to our volunteers, @douglascountyco & @SouthMetroPIO for your dedication to keeping the community safe!
