When monsoon rains slammed into Pakistan, villages were submerged. The flooding forced people from their homes and cut off road access. In partnership with @rizqorg, here's how our #ChefsForPakistan teams are showing up for families that are still cut off and dealing with devastation.
In September, heavy monsoon rains brought devastating flooding to Pakistan’s Punjab region.
WCK and local nonprofit Rizq have served over 3 million meals to impacted communities.
Many villages were cut off from roads, but our teams are committed to reaching them however we can.
As we found more communities in need, our work expanded south.
In addition to the kitchens we had established, our teams learned that the areas of Jalalpur and Alipur also needed our support. There, search and rescue missions are still ongoing.
Many communities prefer to return home and begin cooking again as soon as possible. We are distributing meal kits, which help them to cook for several family members across multiple days.
Despite the floodwaters and destruction, our teams are reaching the communities that need us most.
Monsoons tore through villages in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, destroying homes and farmland. WCK teams arrived quickly to distribute hot meals and hope to families who are rebuilding from the ground up. #ChefsForPakistan

This week, WCK regional partners in Pakistan will have completed the delivery of nearly 200 tons of food for families impacted by catastrophic floods. Villages have been inundated for weeks, many people are displaced & critical supplies are hard to come by. #ChefsForPakistan
WCK’s local Relief Team delivered food kits—filled with 6 weeks worth of food—to Johi & nearby villages still underwater from historic floods in Pakistan. Electricity hasn’t returned in Ali’s village so he’s happy to also take candles back home with him. #ChefsForPakistan

In Pakistan’s Swat District, historic flooding swept away entire villages & left communities isolated. At a local school, WCK provided daily lunches for students whose families lost their home. We’re now working to provide food kits in Swat & Khairpur District. #ChefsForPakistan
