#Recruits from #Class291 are advancing a line as a team to fight a “cellar fire” during Burn Day 5 at #DFS-Stow. Note the efficient hose handling in order to get sufficient hose into the cellar via the bulkhead to allow an effective fire attack.

Last week, #Recruits from #Class291 deployed a roof ladder to the roof of the burn building at #DFSStow in preparation to effect vertical ventilation. As a requirement for national certification to FF I/II, all recruits deploy a roof ladder from both the tip & butt positions.

Firefighter safety: In preparation to enter the burn building at the Stow campus during Burn Day 1, #Recruits from #Class291, as well as Fire Instructors, don their SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) face pieces, & Nomex hoods, & check the face seal for leaks.
