He is a farmer and family man, who is about to be killed for defending himself and his livelihood.
This is his story. Share it widely. This injustice must not be allowed to stand!

A farmer defended himself from a violent attack. Now, he’s on death row for surviving.
The case of Sunday Jackson reveals deep flaws in our justice system. It is up to us to demand change and protect the rights of all citizens against injustice.

@Thuso1Africa @Jesurukky1 @GovernorAUF Gov, granting clemency to Sunday Jackson is a must! Executing him for self-defense trashes justice and shields criminals, not victims.
Nigeria’s system can’t keep failing like this.
#ClemencyforSundayJackson @GovernorAUF
Mr Governor, do the right thing, clemency for Mr Jackson. Killing him for defending himself not only violets his rights but also sends a wrong message to criminals that the Nigerian justice system is designed to protect criminals not victims @GovernorAUF #ClemencyforSundayJackson

@thefunkeadeoye Where is CAN in all this? We are yet to hear any Nigeria pastor speak up on this matter #clemencyforsundayjackson
@thefunkeadeoye One deposition stood out for me as a non-lawyer. " That a person who regains control of a weapon after being attacked must immediately retreat, even on his own land." This is probably the most important of the Tenets on self-defense. #clemencyforsundayjackson

Reading the judgement gladdens my heart. Hod bless the justice for doing right legally. I’m also calling for #ClemencyforSundayJackson and hoping the Adamawa state government will honor the judgement.
Justice Ogunwumiju didn’t just dissent.
She acquitted and discharged Sunday Jackson, declaring him a proper candidate for clemency.
Her judgment speaks to justice courage.
Sunday Jackson was robed of his youth when the trespasser entered into his farm at age 21.
I urge you to join us in calling on the Governor of Adamawa State @GovernorAUF to act.
Clemency is now a moral imperative.
Dear Governor @GovernorAUF
Don't let Sunday Jackson be killed for defending himself against the person who came to attack him on his farm. He needs your clemency. Kindly repost this until Governor Fintiri acts on this matter.

I just read the dissenting judgment delivered by Justice Helen Ogunwumiju, JSC, in Sunday Jackson v. State.
By refusing to affirm the execution of a man who lawfully defended himself from an armed herdsman, she upheld the constitutional right to life and safeguarded the integrity of Nigeria’s criminal jurisprudence. (1)
We need #ClemencyforSundayJackson because the four other Justices of the Supreme Court upheld his death sentence.
