During my visit to United Services Club (US Club) in January 2026 - I was disappointed to see that "Club Plate" was not on the menu - at least in the Seaside Annexe where I had enjoyed it in 2014 - maybe they still serve it in the main club. _____ Outsourcing has ruined the once unique “Club Cuisine”. Today – most clubs “outsource” their catering to contractors. The result is that there is no difference between club food and restaurant food. Many clubs may hire the same catering contractor – so the food will be the same in all the clubs. Distinctive Club Cuisine has disappeared from clubs which now serve Restaurant Food. Earlier – each club had its own dedicated cooks who produced their own special recipes and each club was known for its distinctive unique cuisine and signature dishes. And – each club had its own unique CLUB PLATE Today – if you ask for the CLUB PLATE in a club – the waiters will be clueless. (Today’s clubs don’t even have their own waiters – but food is served by the catering contractor’s waiters) ______ Hopefully – some traditional clubs still serve this signature dish – the CLUB PLATE. CLUB CUISINE - THE "CLUB PLATE"

A Club is known by its unique "Club Plate".

Any "Club" which does not serve "Club Plate" is not a genuine Club.

The picture below of "Club Plate" was clicked 12 years ago in March 2014 at United Services Club (US Club) Mumbai at the Seaside Annexe.

During my visit to United Services Club (US Club) in January 2026 - I was disappointed to see that "Club Plate" was not on the menu - at least in the Seaside Annexe where I had enjoyed it in 2014 - maybe they still serve it in the main club.

Outsourcing has ruined the once unique “Club Cuisine”.

Today – most clubs “outsource” their catering to contractors.

The result is that there is no difference between club food and restaurant food.
