Anil Kumar Recent Interview — #AnilKumar an entrepreneur and the brother of actor #AjithKumar, will be making his first film appearance with a cameo in the Hollywood film #CocoAndNut. - However, he refrains from calling it his acting debut. Debut means the first appearance in a film and signals that there’s more to come. - But I don’t see it as a debut. At best, it is a cameo. My brother himself was an accidental actor; I’d describe myself as an incidental actor. - Acting is not something he sees as his true calling. I don’t see myself as an actor. Acting is not my calling. Who’s to say I’d even be good at this? - But never say never—you never know who you might run into and what doors might open. - In Coco & Nut, Anil Kumar will be playing himself—a professional matchmaker.

Friends and acquaintances are aware that I am slated to do a cameo—as myself (Mr. Matchmaker at Jodi365)—in an upcoming Hollywood romcom, Coco & Nut. It was a delight to take in the recording of one of the songs yesterday, at a studio in namma Chennai. I got to witness, firsthand, other professionals who've patiently mastered their own craft, over years of determined practice, demonstrate their talent and expertise, that too in domains far removed from mine. I was awestruck by how @singer_karthik waltzed in, reviewed the lyrics, iterated and improvised with the filmmaker, music composer, sound engineer, and (on-call) lyricist, and recorded a song within a few hours. I have a lot of appreciation now for the work of a sound engineer too. (Pictured is the masterful Hari.) Purists may have strong opinions on "punching in," with a song recorded and edited digitally in segments. Yet, I see it as merely keeping up with technology and fast-paced times. Besides, technology is merely a tool, an enabler. One must still deliver the goods. And on that, what a catchy number created by @justin_tunes! I was tapping my feet all along and look forward to the movie's hitting the floors in the spring. 🥂
