Fantastic Four Spoiler Free Review! We’ve waited four long years to say this… but the MCU is finally back. @FantasticFour isn’t just a return, it’s a statement. A bold, confident reintroduction of Marvel’s first family that sets a new standard for storytelling and quality in the MCU. Director Matt Shakman, who helmed 43 episodes of @alwayssunny, brings that same dynamic energy and character-driven brilliance to this film. As the showrunner of @wandavision, he’s already proven he knows how to blend heart, humor, and high-stakes storytelling. Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm) are each phenomenal in their roles, but it’s their chemistry that truly shines. You don’t just believe they’re a team. You believe they’re a family. Visually, this film is stunning. The world-building is imaginative and rich, from the design of the Baxter Building to the cosmic expanses they explore. The VFX is nothing short of jaw-dropping, vibrant, immersive, and seamless. Every power showcase feels uniquely rendered, and Galactus… wow. A towering, cosmic force that doesn’t just look terrifying, he feels mythic. Some fans noted the film was “too short,” but it still clocks in at nearly two hours. That’s incredible, not because it wasn’t long enough, but because audiences genuinely wanted more. It’s since been confirmed that around 15 minutes were cut from the final version, including scenes featuring a mysterious character portrayed by John Malkovich. While we wish we could’ve seen more, especially with Ben Grimm’s backstory, we have no doubt these character arcs will continue to unfold as the MCU builds its next chapter. The humor lands. The drama hits hard. The emotional stakes are higher than expected. And the visuals? They’re a reminder of what blockbuster cinema is capable of when firing on all cylinders. This isn’t just a great superhero movie. It’s a return to form and it might just mark the beginning of a whole new era for the MCU. Rating 9/10
