Did you know that #UofSC's ceremonial mace is over 50 years old? Originally designed by Leslie Durbin, the mace is nearly 4ft long and weighs about 15 pounds. When not in use, the mace is display in our 1st floor gallery.

Leave it to Jonathan Green to create beauty out of the ordinary tasks we complete every day. In "Noon Wash", the artist creates a beautiful scene featuring a Gullah woman finishing her washing. 🎨

Brass campaign tokens were the political buttons of the mid-1800s. They were worn to show favor to a particular candidate and to help along the campaign trail. These particular tokens were crafted in support of candidates for the 1860 presidential election. #collectionconnection

Happy Fourth of July! This theorem painting captures a bald eagle with the United States flag, flowers and ribbons. Theorem painting dates to the first half of the 19th century and involved overlaying numerous stencils to create the artwork. #collectionconnection
