I need to crash but here's the tally so far: Late 70, On-Time 26. Of those, 90 fulfilled, and 6 are unfulfilled. These are 2018 to 2020 books. Therefore, 27 percent were on-time, and 72.9 percent are late. The fulfillment rate is 93.75 percent. I'm less than 1/3 of the way through counting so there's still time to vote as these numbers you see reported here are preliminary. Many of the late books are creators who have funded more than once, so I am uncertain that you, the backers, have a no-fund rule for late books. For starters, it is highly likely that any book you might fund will be late but even if you had such a rule, how would know ahead of time if the book was going to be late? Further, some of the on-time creators then end up being late in another campaign. Therefore, I doubt that a great number of serious backers will stop supporting books because of lateness. Some might, but not enough to offset the number of new backers that come onto subsequent campaigns. Finally, I'm seeing a number late books doing the vast majority of their sales in-demand, indicating that the longer it takes to produce a book, the more time it has to be seen. Later, I'll do an analysis to see if there's any financial advantage to being on-time.
