⚠️We just completed ANOTHER #CommunityCooker in Shela Village, Lamu🎉. The Cooker will provide an alternative #ncineration method that will not pose dangers to the surrounding community & #environment. This makes it 14 COMMUNITY COOKERS now successfully installed all over Kenya❗️

We recently handed over another #CommunityCooker at Blessed Generation High School❗️It will serve as their new #kitchen where they will be cooking 3 meals a day for over 140 students. They will substitute #fuelwood with #rubbish which will save them 85% of their #fuel costs 💯.

One #CommunityCooker, operated for a year, can save the calorific equivalent of burning approximately 3,000 mature trees?! We have saved 126,000 trees by providing people with an alternative #heatenergy to charcoal or firewood, reducing the cutting down of trees for cooking fuel.

The #CommunityCooker’s open kitchen is different from kitchens that use charcoal and firewood as a fuel as the kitchen remains smokeless. The chimney usually exhausts the flue gases of combustion eight meters above the ground level, thus achieving a smokeless cooking environment.

We will transform the whole #dumpsite into a proper solid waste management centre with a sorting area ♻️, and the Cooker will sort the burning of rubbish problem and provide income to the residents through its use. #WasteManagement #WasteDisposal #TrashTag #CommunityCooker
