I've swapped Compose's Material bottom bar for an actual UITabBar in my app, OverLift π
We've all gotten so used to the (not so) new liquid glass look that anything else instantly feels off on iOS. #ComposeMultiplatform looks great imo, but this is one of those places where it doesn't quite land for an iPhone user.
More recent versions added experimental overlay placement for interop views (the placedAsOverlay flag), so native UIKit views can finally draw on top of Compose content instead of beneath it.
Gave it a try, and honestly? One or two touches like this get you a surprisingly native feel. No need to rewrite the whole thing π
BUT the API is still experimental and the glass bar insists on its own color for unselected items, whatever you tell it π€·ββοΈ
Anyone found a way around that?

Shipped the Frenby login screen yesterday. The hardest part wasn't auth; it was getting the Google and Apple sign-in buttons exactly to spec on both platforms. One #ComposeMultiplatform screen, Android and iOS pixel for pixel. Loving it! @kotlin
