been wotking on a new #conlang this week.
It's called sek-Elthä which literally is just their endonym for "the Celts", but I guess their exonymmay be more familliar "al-Galotha" - the Gallatians.
You have heard of the "Letter to the Gallatians" in the bible, what you probably don't know is that the Gallatians were a celtic people's living in the mountains in central anatolia. They assimilated largely to become greek by the 4th century with last reports of a potential native speaker maybe in the 6th century.
So I did some alt history and made them muslim(ish)
For full disclosure this is the second attempt at a 'modern Gallatian" type conlang. The first one was a reddit post and it insisted on shoving in insular-celtic developments like VSO word order and loss of cases into a continental celtic lanmguage. (I did a little bit of that too, but hopefully with more restraint)
Some things I found when working on the project: this language actually is more generically european than irl celtic languages. Their isolation in britain lead to them completely losing certain indo european features and then developing different features to carry simmilar meaning. This language looks more normal and frankly when looking into early gaulish it reminded me a lot of like latin and lithuenian.
