Meet the Super Scoopers — S-281 & S-282! These powerful scooping aircraft are dropping thousands of gallons of water on the fire to help firefighters gain the upper hand in rugged terrain.
Each plane can scoop up 1,412 gallons of water in just 12 seconds yesterday alone they dropped 42,000 gallons on hard-to-reach areas.

Crews have made progress, with most containment on the southwest side near Carter Springs. Dozer lines are holding the north perimeter, but dense fuels near Rice Peak and rollout hazards near Lone Pine Canyon remain a challenge. Aerial resources dropped 42,000 gallons yesterday to support suppression efforts.

As of 8:00 p.m. on June 21, Nevada Type 3 IMT 3, led by IC Andy Bertelson, assumed command of the Conner Fire.
Overnight, crews patrolled the area, with minimal fire activity and flare-ups in the northwest. Mop-up and containment efforts continued to reinforce control lines and eliminate hot spots.
Today’s focus: closing perimeter gaps, building depth along control lines, constructing handlines, and reducing heat within the fire’s edge to prevent rekindling and spread.
