We already knew it. It is not a surprise for Americans or even for Europeans. And so I do not understand the indignant headlines of European newspapers. The European Union is a disaster. Americans know it and Europeans know it. Its leadership is entrusted to a mediocre woman who does not even represent her country, #Germany. She was kicked out by #AngelaMerkel. She does not even represent European voters. Her second term in Brussels was born from an insane coalition of the #CenterLeftEstablishments. For now Trump is only saving #GiorgiaMeloni and making her the queen of a new transatlantic partnership. He has little doubt that #France will also soon send its inept president to hell. As for #Germany, with or without #AlternativeFuerDeutschland, the future seems clear: #Germany will return to being the hegemonic power in #Europe. It will be up to Germany and no longer to #NATO to stem Russian expansionism.
