@oceanswims Was in the last wave to go the 2.4. Very tough swell and sweep, everyone quite scattered. Quite a wide birth and cold patch on east-south edge. Tracked 2.6k on the Garmin. Fantastic stuff!!!
Debacle at Coogee. Now 11am and they have decided to can the 2.4km and only run the 1km after half the swimmers are swimming around a very tough wedding cake island.

We’d love to tell you what water temp is at #CoogeeSwims today, but awgies haven’t said and have not responded to enquiries. Surprising since they identified temp benchmarks themselves yesterday. Under 17, wetties encouraged; under 15, “mandatory”.
#CoogeeSwims awgies say water temp is low, wetties encouraged, all eligible for prizes, but no word on the actual water temperature.
