#4. @LondonBreed stood by me to oppose — and soundly defeat — the @SFBOS majority’s idiotic #CopTax scheme, which would’ve turned our public safety challenges into an excuse for a tax hike.

We are elated by the resounding defeat of #CopTax Prop B in yesterday’s election, reaffirming our belief that San Franciscans wholeheartedly support our law enforcement agencies.
Thank you, San Francisco — for handing the Prop B #CopTax a lopsided defeat! Down in the polls when we started, this sends a strong message that voters want real progress on police staffing. Thanks to @SanFranciscoPOA, @MissLily and everyone in our corner. It means a lot to me.

“Proposition B, described by its proponents as a measure to raise funds to hire more cops, is patently bad and deceptive legislation….an initiative that won’t help get more cops on the street.”

Stop the #CopTax and vote NO on Prop B.

Oh c’mon, @Ahsha_Safai, tell the truth: Prop B is NOT about “repurposing existing revenue.” The plain language of your measure mandates “a future tax” for “additional revenue” to hire more police. In other words, it’s a tax hike requirement — a #CopTax scheme.
VOTE NO ON B!

Again nice try @mattdorsey the only one who has delayed staffing the police department is @LondonBreed. If you support @GavinNewsom’s Prop 1 of repurposing existing revenue- Prob B offers the same thing - we offer a sensible way forward as we face a billion dollar deficit.
@BloomTV Prop B is deceptive bait-and-switch trick meant to DELAY progress on police staffing by requiring a future tax hike — a #CopTax — before even minimum staffing levels can be set. Please, @nbcbayarea and @BloomTV, invite ANY of the @SFBOS members who voted for it to debate me!
This misses the key fact about Prop B: that Sup. @Ahsha_Safai and five @SFBOS members added a deceptive #CopTax requirement to DELAY PROGRESS ON POLICE STAFFING. It’s a misleading dirty trick, which neither @Ahsha_Safai nor any other supervisor would debate. VOTE NO ON PROP B!
California is famous for its direct democracy, and in next Tuesday’s election, San Francisco voters will get to weigh in on four ballot measures to deal with the city’s biggest problems: crime, drugs, and a lack of affordable housing. Here’s what to know: https://t.co/SG9wcGUMnZ
Foisted upon S.F. by supervisors who care more about a new tax hike than public safety, Prop B could win Tuesday — if voters believe its proponents’ lies about it. That’s why its own sponsor, Sup. @Ahsha_Safai, wouldn’t debate me on it.
Stop the #CopTax — and vote NO on Prop B.
PLEASE, @KQEDForum — don’t shut out Prop B.
It’s the closest in the polls, the least understood, the most confusing — and now Prop B proponents are lying about it. The #CopTax bait-and-switch deserves debate and scrutiny!

Thank you @GasiaKTVU and the whole @KTVU team for hosting me to make my case for why San Franciscans should vote No on Prop B. Be sure to vote by March 5 — and stop the #CopTax! https://t.co/SeH36PTivD
The exact opposite is true:
👉 PROP B LITERALLY REQUIRES A TAX HIKE BEFORE IT CAN TAKE EFFECT 👈
But hey, don’t take my word for it; read the language of the measure. Don’t buy the #CopTax lie.
Vote NO on Prop B.

City Hall must do its part. And voters must also do theirs to demand real progress toward a fully staffed SFPD — not this #CopTax gamesmanship — to protect public safety, to restore order, to pursue retail theft. And to be a City where businesses like Macy’s want to stay. (5/5)
I can’t help but wonder if businesses leaving S.F. might have stayed if a fully funded 5-year plan to achieve full police staffing were on the ballot right now — instead of the cynical Prop B #CopTax scheme @Ahsha_Safai hijacked to delay progress. (1/5)

With the Prop B #CopTax measure in a 49-48% dead-heat, according to the @SFChronicle, will its sponsor, Sup. @Ahsha_Safai, duck another Prop B debate — now slated for this Thursday at @WelcomeToMannys?
Doesn’t the sponsor owe it to voters to defend his own ballot measure? (1/5)

This outstanding op-ed by @MarjanPhilhour is a must-read take-down of Prop B, the dishonest #CopTax scheme that puts a future tax hike ahead of SFPD staffing. Prop B is a defund scheme masquerading as public safety.
Don’t buy the Cop Tax lie! #VoteNoOnB

Real solutions for real problems – Not just misleading campaign slogans. We need to stop the #CopTax vote no on ballot measure B. If you're a registered Democrat you can support the @SFDemsForChange and my bid for DCCC by voting today.
