Colleen has been on Canton PD's neck for years due to the ongoing harassment she and Jeff have been subject to. When I saw Charlie Rae was one of two finalists for Canton's police chief position, I was hoping she would go to the Selectboard meeting.. and she did... and she sat front and center. It was clear that Rae, who had to read from notes, was obviously uncomfortable. Let it be known that it was Rae who kickstarted the campaign against F&F Power Equipment which has led to years of issues for Colleen and Jeff. He is explicitly complicit for the town's actions against them. Regardless, a leader knows how to take scrutiny, show compassion and knows how to hold themselves accountable. Rae not only showed that he cracks under pressure (having a "woe is me moment" mentioning how difficult it is that protesters stand outside of Canton PD) but also that he ignores issues that he blatantly caused. As the new incoming chief Mike Daniels stated, "it's okay to be scrutinized", and as police officers you should expect it.
