Well, it's finally done. Hofstadter's Law: It always takes longer than you expect, even when you take into account Hofstadter's Law. Approximately one month later than planned, but our course on Financial Literacy for SaaS Leaders, #CoverYourSaaS, is ready to ship. This project started back in November, with the following sentence (like many of our other ideas): "Hey @Jeff_Breunsbach, wouldn't be cool if we... made a course?" Initially, I set out to help customer success leaders determine and communicate the ROI of customer success in their companies. But as work began, it was clear that the content for a course on ROI also applies to ANY manager in a SaaS company: - Sales - Product - Support - Marketing - Engineering - Customer Success - Professional Services - HR, IT, Finance and Infosec So we opened the aperture. And created #CoverYourSaaS for everyone who ever felt like an impostor in the room with a CFO, CEO, other senior management, or their board. The course is 134 minutes across 22 bite-sized (mostly 5-10 minute) lessons. @thejustinwelsh inspired me to keep it simple. Hundreds of hours of research. I got stuck on some topics. Lost sleep worrying about finishing. Got impostor syndrome... nearly quit a couple times. I listened to Rick Rubin's book, The Creative Act, on repeat (yes, even creating business content can be a "creative act.") And now, it's done. Our hope is that this resource helps you see behind the curtain of your company. And that you can use this knowledge as a lever to increase the impact you're making on your company, and to expand your career. There's never been a more crucial time for all leaders in SaaS to increase their financial literacy.
