Caretaker taking care of business. Roy Hodgson still going strong at 78, managing his 1,270th game, guiding Bristol City to victory at Charlton Athletic. Age is a number, Roy is Roy, a mix of experience and expertise and point to prove through feeling slightly under-appreciated. Admitted to a few nerves before kick-off. But brings calm and direction to a dressing-room in need of it. Prepared team well, even with only three training sessions. Called for players to show pride in their performance and they responded. Radek Vitek and Scott Twine particularly good. Ends run of six games without a win. Bigger tests still to come, such as a trip to play-off chasers Southampton on April 21. But a good start. Still plenty of issues for owner Steve Lansdown to address, though, strengthening squad, clarifying ambition, rebuilding connection with fans etc. But Hodgson looks a shrewd short-term appointment. Quells some of the noise and angst around the club. Sold-out away following at The Valley also shows how many people care about the club. #BristolCity
