Fashion Meets Intellectual Property Today, the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) hosted a groundbreaking Industrial Design Workshop tailored specifically for Fashion and Creative Designers, a first of its kind in Uganda. This event aimed to bridge the gap between creativity and #intellectualproperty rights, equipping designers with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their innovations in an increasingly competitive industry. Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Ronnie Nsubuga, the Executive Director of Pearl of Africa Fashion Alliance @PAFAug and a leading voice in the fashion space, emphasized the significance of the moment: “For the first time, we have a workshop dedicated to fashion and intellectual property, something that has never happened before. And that’s why we felt it was time to shake things up.” “Fashion is not just art; it’s business. It’s one of the biggest contributors to the urban economy, from #designers, stylists, and photographers to hairdressers, accessory makers, and creative directors.
