Last pass of the #CropWatch22 #corn harvest in Minnesota on Friday afternoon. Exceptional yields, 5 out of 5 stars, best result seen here in the 6 years of Crop Watch. That was expected, but you can never be 100% sure until the end.
Minnesota #CropWatch22 #corn was started Monday afternoon, but rain stopped the harvest just a few acres in. Excellent yields have been expected here, and so far, the prediction looks good.
(Likely) coming up this week in #CropWatch22 #corn harvest: Nebraska, eastern Iowa, and North Dakota (pictured - could be coming up next Sunday). All the #soybeans are finished.
#CropWatch22 #corn in Indiana was also finished on Sunday, results were a bit better than expected. Producer attributes that to rain at the right times, despite there being a very low amount of rain for the whole summer. No intense heat in July and August helped too.
#CropWatch22 #corn coming off in southeast Illinois. Yield is 11% lower than last year, maybe at the pre-harvest expectations or slightly below. Producer was definitely hoping for better throughout most of the season.
The Minnesota #corn waits it's turn - still looking like yields will be strong. This is likely to be one of the last #CropWatch22 fields to be harvested, prob near the end of the month. Most producers are reporting quick harvest pace due to dry and warmer weather.
The western Illinois #corn last week was the second #CropWatch22 corn field to be harvested after Kansas a month ago. Yield was a little below expectations, prob because a lot of foggy mornings following ample summer rains led to disease problems. Still above avg yield here.

#CropWatch22 #soybeans in Indiana coming off this morning. This one will be interesting to watch because the summer was so dry here, but beans looked surprisingly decent throughout. Late season rain may have increased seed size.

These were the #CropWatch22 #soybeans in W IL two weeks ago. Original plant (May 2, left, emergence hampered by rain) vs replant (May 24, right). The producer had hoped the difference wouldn't be this large, but the field should still be able to achieve a strong yield.
#Soybeans in South Dakota could be cut this week, and the #CropWatch22 fields in Minnesota and Nebraska are likely for next week. Will be a little longer in North Dakota since planting was late, but yields there could be a hair better than expected - still very TBD though.
#CropWatch22 #corn in W Illinois could be harvested this week, though Nebraska will be another 2-3 weeks and Minnesota prob a bit after that. As of Monday, Kansas corn is the only one of 22 Crop Watch fields to be harvested (3 weeks ago - poor results).
Late season rains have improved seed size for the Indiana #soybeans, but the dryland Nebraska beans mostly missed out. Average yields are still possible in Nebraska while Indiana should be above average and western Illinois potentially well above. #CropWatch22
