Finally #mast 2 is in the air! #6m vertical at the top, dual band #VHF #UHF on #crossarm with UHF broadband whip & #groundplane Receive #DATV grid antenna, yagi for TV & last but not least VHF UHF vertical for #SDR experiments. Tomorrow #coax tests & radio connections #radio

#sortie 6,7,8 completed today. All was going well, managed to haul the 4 metre #crossarm up by hand & positioned correctly with a great deal of effort. Then…..dropped a #nut - damn! Nut escaped. Positioned a 2nd 2m long #outrigger Next, #antenna fit up. 😀 #wireless #hamradio

Another glorious Autumn day conducive to #bear climbing. 6m & 2/70 #antennae now down.Forgotten how heavy the #crossarm was - some tricky moments lowering to ground. Scared the hell out of a neighbour when my greeting boomed from the sky. 😂 Pic 1 before Pic 2 after. #radio #ham

The #bear was in the #air today. Not #flying instead #climbing Started the #tower works by removing one of the dualband verticals from a #crossarm Tomorrow removal of the #6m vertical & the entire cross arm. Son should be available tomorrow to get Mast 2 in the air. #radio #ham

For my X #mathematical experts here is a #problem seeking your advice. Main mast on ground at 057 degrees. Cross arm holds a #vertically #polarized #UHF antenna. UHF antenna needs to point 158 degrees when mast is vertical. What angle should the #crossarm be at relative to mast?

Note to self. When tightening up #crossarm U-bolts in the vicinity of #bird #deterrent plastic gadgets don’t get too near them - they #bite Looks worse than it is - only noticed the cut when blood dripped on the u-bolt nut. Thought thats odd! #tough #ham #amateurradio #bandaid
