#CuratorsPick : Handley Page Heyford Mk. IA of No. 10 Squadron, 1935. This biplane night bomber had a short operational career, entering service in 1933 and being relegated to training in 1939. Unusual was that the bombs were carried in the lower wings, rather than the fuselage.

This RAF Station opened in 1939 as the home of #BalloonCommand. Its squadrons flew barrage balloons to protect industrial and military locations. It came under operational control of Fighter Command during WW2.
