For all of you who took part in our 1st Chemical Biology Symposium: THANK YOU! For all of you who missed it: we hope to see you in 2019. Everyone can check out the many impressions of the day using #DFCIChemBio2018 hashtag! This photo collage captures just some of the excitement!

👏👏👏to the organizing committee, graduate students from our program: (from left to right) @njschauer, @zmdoctor, @CARM1Monoxide, @_annmorgan, & @_CEPowell. Such an exceptional group! (photo credit: @mpaolacastaldi1) #DFCIChemBio2018

Flo Wagner finishes by few words of advice for students: advocate for yourself, play to your strengths, but acknowledge and face your weaknesses, find mentors as well as your challengers, persist - very inspiring words to end the fantastic day with! #DFCIChemBio2018
We wrap up with a talk by Flo Wagner from @broadinstitute - Dr. Wagner makes a strong argument for why psychiatric disorders should be viewed as an unmet clinic need that we must tackle. #DFCIChemBio2018

We are happy to have as one of our speakers Jessica Spinelli, a graduate student in @HaigisLab. Her work on understanding what ammonia is doing in context of cancer makes for a very interesting #chemicalbiology story. #DFCIChemBio2018

Conclusion was that #ChemicalBiology can help propel inventiveness in drug discovery. Needless to say I was a huge fan of this talk #DFCIChemBio2018

Loren Walensky, a principle investigator in our program, starts the last session of #DFCIChemBio2018 by reflecting on how to keep an eye on the prize - making a difference to patients! The strategies that his lab is developing centers on stapled peptides.

@Dereklowe talking at #DFCIChemBio2018 comparing Pharma to wallstreet, trees, in-flight magazines, the need to "suck slightly less", and a call for med chemist to be more of a chemical biologist. Thanks 4 ur insights!
Really enjoying the breadth of disciplines being showcased at #DFCIChemBio2018! Always good to hear from both academia and industry.
Fantastic talk from @Dereklowe at @DFCI_ChemBio gotta love the drug discovery and Hollywood analogy #DFCIChemBio2018

Happening now - @CKadoch sharing advancements made in @kadochlab to better understand, among other things, gain-of-function mSWI/SNF complexes. #DFCIChemBio2018

Great Keynote talk this morning from Prof.Kiessling at #DFCIChemBio2018 @ChemicalBiology and very interesting follow-up talk on the dTAG system for target-specific protein degradation. #chemtwitter

Our morning session wrap up by @mpaolacastaldi1 talking about #chemicalbiology strategies @AstraZeneca employs! #DFCIChemBio2018

Really fantastic morning session at the #DFCIChemBio2018 symposium closed out by Hari Arthanari discussing the wealth of functionality possessed by intrinsically disordered proteins. Thanks to the organizers for an excellent lineup of speakers!
It’s a packed house @DanaFarber for the first ever Chemical Biology symposium. Hundreds turned out to hear some of the brightest minds in #chemicalbiology #DFCIChemBio2018

Well, all except one static structure, but who has that really these days? (For those of you who just stumbled into this thread: I’m talking about intrinsically disordered proteins, which are really awesome due to their craziness, role in bio phase separation) #DFCIChemBio2018
Now on to one of my favorite scientific topics - intrinsically disordered proteins. These systems have it all - except perhaps our deeper understanding! Such an open playing field for #chemicalbiology, #NMR, biology, physics... you name it they got it!!! #DFCIChemBio2018
Fantastic talk by @behnamnabet this morning at the first annual @DFCI_ChemBio Symposium #DFCIChemBio2018
Next speaker this morning is @behnamnabet sharing the work on dTAG platform that can be used to induce degradation of any protein target. #DFCIChemBio2018

Do you think that proteins that don’t have a well defined structure still can execute precise function? Hari Arthanari now presents on intrinsically disordered proteins and how they indeed function to regulate processes such as transcription! #DFCIChemBio2018
