@barryfrey , the line up for @DPAAorg looks well curated! I expect nothing less than an exceptional day! #DPAA19 https://t.co/CA1END02Ql
There are significant hurdles in the delegatng of ELC1140 operations to 32 separate Local Authorities. It means every single one of them also need to understand & foreground child development, attachment & relationships in a time of financial distress. @paulinescott222 @ #dpaa19
@UpstartScot @2020Together @KateJohnston3 @suzannezeedyk @tam_baillie @connect_scot @cisweb @craig_carol @early_learner We warned that they would need a massive investment in training to be ready for the expansions but the government didn't seem to grasp how many more people they would need and how long it would take to get people trained up.
“T impact of ELC expansion to 1140hrs feels a little ironic considerng the govt’s work on ACEs over the past few years. Perhaps these depts should have spoken to each other?” I pretty much said the same thing at #DPAA19 ths wk. @MooreHouseCare @realdcameron @paulinescott222
Upstart's latest blog is an expert analysis of problems with the 1140hrs nursery expansion. Essential reading for anyone interested in early years. @2020Together @KateJohnston3 @suzannezeedyk @tam_baillie @connect_scot @cisweb @craig_carol @early_learner

Thanks @parentforumscot for sending me along. Can’t wait to share what I’ve learned.

What such an honour to be part of the ACES conference today-I loved being able to share my story and fingers crossed I’ve inspired others. Was lovely meeting @realdcameron and @suzannezeedyk aswell. Both your workshops were very insightful and informative. @MooreHouseCare #DPAA19
I am delighted that you have picked up on that comment. We need to get beyond "role" in dealing with young people #DPAA19
An inspiring screening of 'Resilience' today @Dpaa19 conference.Engaging & thought provoking workshops & discussions with @suzannezeedyk & @realdcameron a timely reminder of why I do what I do.. "people don't need a role, they need a person" #relationshipsmatter #dpaa19 #aceaware
Megan, thank you for a lovely thread of comments and, be sure, there's a lot of wackiness in them that highlands #DPAA19
@suzannezeedyk @realdcameron I often feel that those are the qualities we should be focussed on encouraging in our young people and helping them to develop these should be our priority - it’s what we all need in our relationships! Hoping my thoughts aren’t too “wacky” for the highlands. 🤪

Stephen, It was a privilege to be with you all at #DPAA19 . Truly. The group’s focus — not only on practice change but also on political change AND on celebrating current strengths at both levels — has left me inspired. @realdcameron
A massive thank you to @suzannezeedyk and @realdcameron for your thought provoking and enjoyable keynotes at our conference today #DPAA19.

I left thoughtful & energetic. We NEED joined up thinking & we need all 32 LA councillors informed.

We are always grateful to find our Sabre Tooth Tigers & Teddy Bears book on @CairnsMoir , including today at #DPAA19 in Queensferry. Feels an honour especially to have it on the same table as @lemnsissay ‘s book.
@dr_treisman I thought you would like these shots, taken today at the @CairnsMoir Book Table today at #DPAA19 . You will no doubt recognise the resources! I was delighted to be behind in the queue to recommend them highly.

Today’s ACE Aware Conference made me emotional, my eyes welling up on occasions. I could so easily listen to @suzannezeedyk + @realdcameron all day. 2 years of teaching - I still worry I’m not qualified enough or informed enough, but today has ignited a fire in my belly. #DPAA19
@realdcameron winds up the day at #DPAA19 arguing, to the backing of his famous soundtrack, that inspectors should be asking Where is the Love — not Where is the Plan. #Relationships
@realdcameron argues at #DPAA19 that too much of what happens in Scotland is based on hierarchy. We need alliance. I agree. We are taught frm a very early age that you hv to do what t grown-ups say. Whn we do grow up, we still wait to be told what is allowed. #SayNo #BeInsistent
Kimberley at #DPAA19 has just said her worse loss on coming into care was being separated from her two brothers. This made me think of all the insistent conversations we keep having in @TheCareReview about siblings.
#dpaa19 👍🏻
Call to action 🗣
Excellent point made during the @suzannezeedyk @realdcameron @judyfurnivall conversation at #ACEAware2019 about overcoming the barriers of policy reform + lack of funding on the way forward to a #TraumaInformed future.
