This is a jug from a 1913 tea set. It was owned by a local family in Ponders End but was made in Staffordshire. I loved the design and it made me think of #Enfield's industry.

It's a sil batta. Here's its story by Rosey Zaman: "My mother used the batta to grind spice mixes and paste for cooking. These stone grinders are still used in South Asia today".
