Sorry to keep harping on about Rio’s Victory- but an important FYI Rio’s story has been passed on to the nationals with my blessing. I want to make it *abundantly clear* that by learning SEND Law I had no idea I was about to blow open a national scandal and I don’t relish the attention, I just want to help others have what they’re legally entitled to. What I am *thrilled* about, however, is that it will help so so many families- I knew it affected a lot of people but had no idea of the scale. God knows being a parent-carer is hard enough without schools illegally retaining children’s free school meal monies! I want to make it clear that this isn’t the fault of Teachers; it’s not in their remit to process and account for these funds; it is the legal responsibility of school administrators and they know full well what they’re supposed to be doing. IF his story appears in the S*n; I have not and would never speak to them. I have spoken to the Sheffield Star and Hallam FM only, which is our local newspaper and regional radio station, any other publications are simply recycling the original article. As far as I am aware it’ll possibly be on our regional ITV news, which is called Calendar, during the week. But I’m not 100% on that as obviously the news stories chop and change as world events happen. The FSM entitlement of disabled, poorly and terminally ill children is not pocket money for greedy school leaders; it belongs to the children and young people and together we’re going to make damn well sure that the funds get accounted for, backdated and paid where appropriate! #SEND #ParentCarer #FreeSchoolMeals #DisabilityRights #DontBuyTheSun
