Hells bells, how did we get here? 'Uplift of deceased' simply means collecting dead people, so why not write that? Caring for the dead is not dangerous or industrial. It is human. So let's use open, human language to describe it. #DeadGoodWords

'Loved one' is complicated! Somewhat lazily used to describe both the person who died & their family/friends, it does no justice to the reality of relationships. Not everyone is loved. Most people are more than just loved. Seemingly gentle euphemisms can hurt. #DeadGoodWords
'Loved one' is a phrase that's often used, but doesn't always feel right. We take our lead from family and friends, but always we prefer to call people who have died by their name, wherever possible.
