The simple answer, is that feeling beliefs are generalizations of the feeling experiences a person has had or is having.
Feelings are a product
1) of the situation the person is in,
2) the vision they have of the world, and
3) their emotional brains best guess at the interpersonal dynamics/ relationship qualities based on those first two dimensions.
In no place do I ever say that feelings are intrinsically not true.
Just that for most people they are carried over from a time they were (or felt true) to the present where they are not. However some "negative" feelings and feeling beliefs are simply accurate, then and now.
If you find logical fallacy in the feeling belief you are processing, it may just be true or have nuances that your emotional system is not capturing. It may also be that you need to shift your vision to accommodate reality and then the feeling will stop haunting you and the feeling belief will fade out of existence/ relevance.
I made peace with not being able to find a mentor just over a decade ago, after searching for 30 years. It was an unconscious process at first, and also caused some problems in relationships, but once it became conscious I eventually just had to update my vision. Now I started my quest for a spiritual/ academic/ everything mentor in an era when saying you were interested in meditation caused you to be shunned and looked at strangely by society/ academics etc. There literally were next to no people who knew the things I wanted to know and the ones that did taught under the garb of esoteric contexts with strange languages and rituals and initiations and as we eventually discovered, most were too dysfunctional (in the 2nd and 3rd facets) to get involved in. I am glad you live in a totally different world where you have a menu of options and people open to working with you, and where you get to make decisions of relationship or not as well.
