According to Jimmy Wanjigi’s latest #DebtReceipt analysis based on Gazette Notice No. 166: - Debt Exceeds Revenue: Kenya collected Sh184 billion in August 2026, but spent Sh267 billion servicing debt, paying out more than total collections. - Neglected Development: Only Sh15 billion went toward essential development like roads, schools, and hospitals. - Heavy Borrowing: Sh330 billion was borrowed in a single month to cover the shortfall. - 99% To Debt: Since July 1, 2026, Sh99 out of every Sh100 collected (Sh381 billion out of Sh384 billion) has gone straight to debt service.
