One interesting option that #DecredDEX enables is the ability to trustlessly bridge an asset. Any of our supported assets can be paired with any other, so we can set up a market like USDC(Ethereum) <—> USDC(Polygon), and you convert much faster than the official bridge.
When BTC network fees are low, #DecredDEX transaction fees are cheaper than Coinbase. But when network fees spike, DEX fees might be ≥ 2x Coinbase. Is it worth the premium to be self-custodial? To pay miners instead of executives? To keep your trades private? To be blockchain?
#DecredDEX does not charge registration or trading fees. Traders pay only network transaction fees.
But... We do want to prevent spam. So instead, we ask traders to lock up some funds temporarily in a "bond", which they will reclaim later.

For the #DecredDEX wallet's front end, we use a (loopback-only) web stack GUI, but with zero third-party product code. Our front end is written in 100% vanilla TypeScript. We don't import any third-party code because of the risk of surveillance and supply-chain attacks.
