Kolo’Sharak – The City of Nations Kolo'Sharak, also known as the City of Nations, is a melting pot of different cultures, races, and lifestyles. The city is home to the six subjugated races of Badrock - Humans, Xiriphos, Denraks, Evaris, Tunkos, and Selians. Despite their differences and being under oppressive Graft rule, the city is a bustling metropolis in which these races have come together to form a unique community.
Kolo’Sharak is a sprawling ramshackle cityscape, cobbled together from weather beaten found parts, scavenged tech and ingenuity to form six distinct districts: Evon, Krrvet, Rotu Ho, Selea, Duro and Arinna.
Each area is racially mixed but typically one core group represents the majority in that district. Racial ties run deep, but the effect of shared toil and struggle have created significant geographical alliances that often equal, if not transcend racial differences.
The city is also a place of conflict and political intrigue, various factions, gangs, and guilds are constantly vying for power, influence, control of resources and trade. The ruling council is sometimes unable to keep this balance and very rarely Graft forces have been known to intervene and violently quell the stirrings of rebellion. Kolo’Sharak at the best of times is a quickly shifting, nuanced and complex ecosystem.
The diverse areas of Kolo'Sharak offer a unique glimpse into the cultures and lifestyles of the different races that call the city home. Even though tensions exist between some of the races, the city is a thriving hub of activity, where residents from all walks of life come together to trade, work, and play.
The city is also home to a diverse array of shops, markets, and taverns, where citizens can buy and sell goods, share stories, drink and relax with friends. Life can be hard, brutal and often short lived on Badrock and its citizens take every opportunity to celebrate with festivals attended by citizens from all walks of life.
Whether you view Kolo'Sharak as a melting pot or a simmering cauldron waiting to boil over, there is no denying it is a vibrant and dynamic city that has managed to mostly overcome its differences through unity, perseverance and strength. Its existence serves as a daily reminder that even the most disparate of races can come together to overcome hardship.

The Graft are an advanced alien species that have taken control of the planet Badrock. They are a technologically advanced group that have used their position of power to enslave other species in a form of isolated servitude on the planet’s surface. The Graft are cold, distant overlords using their advanced weapons and technology to keep the other species in line.
A highly militarized people, they wear impenetrable high-tech suits of armor. Their true appearance is unknown. There is often speculation, but no conclusive evidence as The Graft have never been seen outside of their armor. They speak minimally, preferring to use a much faster ‘low telepathy’ of fast image-based communication.
Their extensive network of orbital stations above the planet, in which they live, allows them to project false planetary data readings, luring in unsuspecting species slumbering in cryoships into fabricated gravity wells. The Graft acquire new technology, fresh genetic donors and slave labour for the almost barren planet, Badrock, the lone known source of Arclight in the galaxy.
Having misappropriated the technology of the Elodin race, from the vast abandoned highly advanced underground cities on the planet, The Graft employ a robust suite of superior exotic Arclight based weaponry and a planetary defense grid to destroy any unwanted incoming and outgoing craft.
The Graft monitor and control the various races living on the surface from afar. They have very little involvement in the day-to-day operations of the planet, instead leaving this task to the elected council of six, so long as their rigid quotas of Arclight are met, they consistently send critical supplies and technology while remaining quietly distant. Failing to meet these quotas would be disastrous.
The path of splicing and amalgamating genetic material from the races they capture in an effort to force their own evolution into superior beings has been deeply integrated into their central belief structure as a species. These experiments have not always proved successful. There have been disastrous setbacks, but also incredible, almost inconceivable successes. They believe that the rewards outweigh the risks and the ends justify the means, and this is reflected in their shared motto of “Pain is the price.”
The Graft are a powerful, oppressive and mysterious force. Their motives may be revealed in time, but for now are their own.
