@politics_w_sami Many electoral reforms exist that would be great for Canada. Your preferred approach may be one of them. My feeling is that #DemocraticEquality is the first concept that Canadians need to agree upon. Approving a workable system for Canadians should be done by Citizens’ Assembly.
People need to understand that all steps to convince people to support #DemocraticEquality need to show that the proposed changes are simple and practical. Too often misguided efforts do more harm than good.
A good voting system that we could implement in Canada is the P3 Model+ voting system (the P3 Model was actually created by Stéphane Dion, former LPC leader)
@JAIMELOPEZVELA @CaroGiraBo @Caribeafirmativ @YaajMexico @VictoryInst Such spaces are essential to highlight the need for LGBT+ representation in legislation and to foster collaboration across the region, strengthening our shared efforts to advance equality and human rights.

#DemocraticEquality for Canadians!
Someone who would have actually made sure 2015 was the last election under first-past-the-post.
A truly concerned Canadian would want #DemocraticEquality not just a different version of a power obsessed leader.
Now more than ever he must be our next PM !!!
Who agrees ?
Canadians need #DemocraticEquality
An electoral system where politicians can win almost 80% of the seats with just 44% of the vote is a bad one.
Ontario and all of Canada need proportional representation.
@FairVoteCanada Not to mention the 50% of the electorate being so disgusted by the antics of the political Parties that they don’t think it’s worthwhile to vote. #DemocraticEquality
@bob_combedown Thanks, Bob. This is a heartbreaking moment and I fear councillors may not see the enormity of what they’re doing. #democraticEquality
The Conservative manifesto promised to ensure "every vote counts the same; a cornerstone of democracy".
But it's impossible to ensure every vote counts the same under First Past the Post, regardless of how the boundaries are drawn.
#ProportionalRepresentation #DemocraticEquality
200 years after #Peterloo, it's time to rediscover the idea that #DemocraticEquality is a matter of social justice.
From #Peterloo to suffragists to PR, there can be no equal society without equal votes.

Proportional Representation means #DemocraticEquality - everyone's vote counts the same.
First Past the Post means #DemocraticInequality - different people's votes vary wildly in value.
Time to #ChangeTheVotingSystem
Proportional Representation may sound technical, but this is all it means: #DemocraticEquality
It means your vote is worth the same, has the same effect, & is needed by parties just as much as everyone else's.
The fact this isn't already the case explains... almost everything.
