What a canvas Dev Anand inhabited, and what taste in words & melody! His Faiz recital in मुनीम जी slips into a मुशायरा in तीन देवियां... then Majrooh's कहीं बेख़याल होकर & Sahir's अभी न जाओ छोड़कर, inspired by Dev's suggestion to draw on Hafeez Jalandhari's अभी तो मैं जवान हूं... words Dev Anand, who would have turned 103 today, seemed to live by all his life.
हमारा दिल तो कभी भरेगा नहीं 😊

पल पल मुझे तू सताती......

Man with an infectious energy and timeless charm! Remembering the legendary #DevSaab on his #birthAnniversary ❤️
Happy 101st birthday #DevSaab.
The suave, stylish, sophisticated actor ahead of his times. His smile slayed many hearts across generations❤😍😊
On occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of my heartthrob Dev. This is my most favourite Dev song. An extremely raw looking Dev, plays a grey character in the movie. Directed by Guru Dutt, music SD, lyrics Sahir. Hemant's voice sitting perfectly on the very romantic Dev .
As we mark #IndianIndependenceDay, remembering one of its great cultural ambassadors @ItsMeDevAnand. #DevSaab blazed a trail for Indo-Scottish creative industry links as the first Bollywood filmmaker to locate in Scotland, after which @YashChopraFdn & other movie giants followed.
I’d put it differently n say that #RafiSaab (acceptedly) was the greatest of all who sang for anyone, including #DevSaab. But when #KishoreDa combined with Dev the energy heightened as in films like #JohnyMeraNaam.
मेरे दिल में कौन है तू कि हुआ जहां अँधेरा
वहीँ सौ दिए जलाए तेरे रुख़ की चाँदनी ने
It's been a long debate whether Rafi-Dev pair was better or Kishore-Dev. Well, I thought them to be equal, yet this one song clearly imbalances the equation
