And I just passed my second bar exam in a year.
I am still FURIOUS that there isnโt #diplomaprivilegeforall and that I had to take two exams to have full UBE transferability.

So, the DC bar exam opens registration tomorrow, and I am exhausted. I have been studying for the #barexam for the 9 of the past 12 months.
To be clear to the #diplomaprivilege trolls out there, I passed in October 2020.
So, why do I have to keep studying?

As someone who passed the bar but is studying for ANOTHER bar, this is not helpful. I doubt it's helpful for first-time takers either.
What is helpful? Having institutions willing to stand with students and dismantle the bar exam towards a system of #diplomaprivilegeforall.
We know you're studying hard for the bar exam. We want to remind you that managing your stress and mental health is just as important in passing as the many hours you spent revising.

Also, one of the questions was: "Have you ever been admitted to the bar by #diplomaprivilege?"
I was very sad that I couldn't answer that question with "yes," or "no, but dear God, did I try to make that happen."

Finally, I am always here for @LizCGil and her take that this story could be easily pivoted to a story about how the bar should be eliminated. Because #diplomaprivilegeforall forever, bitches.
But also: #diplomaprivilegeforall is still my mantra. It should not take more than a year from my graduation from law school to be fully barred.
The best policy would be to not have a bar exam, explore equitable options like #diplomaprivilegeforall, and support advocacy and policy suggestions from organizations like @NA4ELP and other #diplomaprivilege organization.
So, I'm on record as being against the #barexam/for #diplomaprivilegeforall, but I will give moderate praise to policy the DC bar exam has: "Exam Policy Regarding Feminine Products, Medication and Health-Related Items."

Fact: no one from a Wisconsin lap school who is also taking the Wisconsin bar exam is applying for the Black Bar Applicant Fund.
