1⃣0⃣5⃣ years ago, Latvia’s 🇱🇻 first democratically elected parliament – the Constitutional Assembly – gathered for its inaugural session. Among its members were 11 people who were either serving in or would later join Latvia’s diplomatic service. They contributed to the establishment of Latvian statehood – drafting the Constitution, developing state symbols and regulations for their use, implementing land reform, preparing the first Saeima elections, and working toward international recognition of the Republic of Latvia. #DemocracyWeek
