We use the tupperware because
1) it creates a seal that allows it to cook evenly in boiled water from the kettle so we can sit and wait
2) the lid makes it easy to move

I think this is my first #disabilityhack! The direct pressure & weight of my noise-canceling earphones is becoming too much--probably b/c I have to wear them all the time now--so I put my thick/firm eye mask on like a headband & settle my headphones over that. So much better!

Today I am loving my house! It has a really long corridor that gives unbroken walking support through the whole house. I can 'lean and slide', meaning I can get around safely AND use my legs a bit within their current limited capacity. #DisabilityHack

Note to self: If #fatigue / #BrainFog levels have me reaching for sugar as artificial energy - it's time for a break! Lie down or move about, rest the brain, recharge - then return to the task when the actual energy levels can cope with it.

To spare your hands, you can squeeze it between arm and ribs f.i.
"I could do that if I really tried" - then I feel guilty for saying no. Now I take time to think what the effect would be (exhaustion, pain, hospitalisation etc). This allows me to say "I've made the right decision, and I have nothing to feel guilty about". #DisabilityHack

What do you do to help yourself cope with long car journeys? I plan stops for wiggle breaks or naps in the car - depending what I need. I make them a part of the experience rather than seeing them as a 'delay' - it makes so much difference to my symptoms. #Pacing #DisabilityHack

Who else has a backup food plan for stressful days? I struggle to eat when stressed. What works for me is tinned tuna, raw carrot, and a packet of crisps. So I always have some in the cupboards - a default that needs no prep and no decisions.

Don't usually use an easel, but I sprained my hand awhile back and it's becoming harder to grip a thick canvas. Also, painting upside down to accommodate my limited reach. Just a #DisabledArtist doing the work. π

What do you have in your house that is a disability adaptation that no-one else sees? My current fav is: blank walls to the main corridor in my house. So I can use the wall for support at any point - and even slide along it on days my balance is really bad. #DisabilityHack

One of my 'busy day hacks' is to set out my outfit the day before - taking into account what I'll be doing, temperature etc. And then create a second outfit pile for the recharging day I'll need afterwards
It saves me a surprising amount of time and brainpower.
