Thieves use clever tricks to steal your belongings while you’re distracted. Keep bags zipped and close to you, Shield your PIN at ATMs, Don’t accept help from strangers with cash machines, Report suspicious activity immediately #CrimePrevention #StaySafe #DistractionTheft

Enjoying Alfresco eating & drinking? #BeAware of #DistractionTheft There’s been a no. of thefts in bars/restaurants Organised criminals distract people who have phones/personal items on tables, by placing a piece of paper over it, which is then slipped away! #NoRegretsLeeds 🧊

Distraction thefts are on the rise! Scenario: A person approaches and starts touching your arms or wrists, or they give you a hug. You're surprised, and during the encounter you might not notice they've removed your jewelry or valuables. Prevention ➡️ https://t.co/XEtxaYd1PW

I loathe #theft & thieves but @VancouverPD's "#DistractionTheft billboard campaign looks like #fearMongering #PR. How many of the 54 distraction thefts VPD says it recorded this year were carried out per languages of billboards: Chinese, English, Punjabi & Tagalog? #Vancouver
