There are over 30k crops on earth that we can eat. But we only cultivate 150 of them! 😱
The 150 types of crop are called staple crops - think sweetcorn maize and common wheat 🌽

This type of wheat is sometimes known as “littlespelt” in English. And its Latin name is Triticum monococcum.

Cowpeas go by many names. They are commonly known as black-eyed peas but are also called southern pea, crowder pea, lubia, niebe, coupe and frijole! 👁️

Intercropping is a farming practice - where 2+ crops are grown together in close proximity.
This method makes more efficient use of resources. And so can produce greater yields than growing a single crop.
