You’re a freelancer, but they don’t tell you that you earn money and you have to fight to get it. You are treated like cattle, with little to no privacy and they can share whatever they deem newsworthy with the media to get clicks and attention. They want to know about your sexual orientation, political opinions and religion before you even sign the contract. Why- well closeting gives them a massive margin of control over an artist. They don’t provide adequate post show care, psychological help or information for contestants. They prioritise making money over the welfare of contestants and don’t have adequate provisions in place to care for the contestants mental, physical or emotional well being. If you are raped, SA’d or abused, then that’s a shame, but you need to continue with the show because above all else the show must go on. You are no longer in control of your public image. You sign all rights over and they can control what’s said in the media about you, making the public either love or loathe you. Lastly, they isolate, condition and manipulate you into being thankful that you are experiencing such abuse and torment. So before signing a deal with Simon Cowell or any TV talent show make sure you know what your willing to give up- your freedom of choice, your life and your right to chose who you are in public (including your sexuality, the clothes you wear and down to your mannerisms). #saynotoSimonCowell
