After basically 1 month of running my old college laptop, and I finally got my #doge out of #dogecoincore after backing up out of #dogechian and into my #coinbase #wallet.
#dogechain #dogecoin wallet is shutting down for good at the end of the year. Backing up my #doge to #dogecoincore local wallet. Going to take a week to update it, but do it now before your #crypto is lost.
I submitted an update to the French README this morning, and there has been some debate on a few things.
I think it would be good if there were more discussion and a consensus was reached before I submit changes. (link below)

DEV | Dogecoin Core's String Freeze: What It Means for Translators
๐#DogecoinCore | #HelpWanted
Announced yesterday by Patrick Lodder, the development cycle of Dogecoin Core 1.14.7 has reached a pivotal point: a string freeze. This is the stage where the majority of new additions to the codebase, including functionalities, bug fixes, security upgrades, and performance improvements, have been tested, merged, and are now ready for release.
The string freeze marks the end of new code additions that contain alterations to "strings." A string in this context refers to any translatable text in the software. This includes help texts, tooltips, error messages, words found on the graphical user interface. The term string freeze implies that no new strings are being added, modified or removed, hence the strings are frozen.
For Dogecoin 1.14.7, the deadline for string translations is February 25th, with the software release expected for February 27th. If you're interested in translating for Dogecoin Core, now is an excellent opportunity. Patrick Lodder has provided a guide for doing translations, which can be found here: https://t.co/QV9lZCpjr3.
If translating isn't your forte, but you are multilingual, you can still contribute by reviewing incoming translations. Updated translations by contributors will be available here: https://t.co/3Qq3Hqo22H

Reporting Core Issues
by @daanksy
This beginner's guide is intended to briefly walk you through the process of reporting Dogecoin Core-related issues.
If you're reading this guide, you probably already know what Dogecoin Core is. However, for those unfamiliar, Dogecoin Core is a piece of software that defines the Dogecoin protocol and functions as a wallet and node. It offers advanced transaction features, a command-line interface, an API, and much more.
If you're experiencing an issue with Dogecoin, there's always a chance it might be related to Core. Whether you use Dogecoin Core or are developing services that interact with the network, knowing how to report issues is important.
Reporting Issues
Your issues could vary greatly. While this guide seeks to help you address them, distinguishing between regular bugs and serious vulnerabilities is important. The latter might require a more discreet and responsible disclosure method, such as through a private channel, rather than on a public platform like GitHub.
Additionally, if you're experiencing issues with third-party wallets like MyDoge or Trust Wallet, it's important to contact the respective platform's support team. Dogecoin Core developers cannot fix or troubleshoot problems occurring on third-party applications or exchanges.
However, if you're confident the issue is related to Dogecoin Core (e.g., the network, your wallet, a node, the API, etc.), follow these steps:
1) On your desktop.
2) Go to https://t.co/XuTmJfYVDG and log in.
3) Go to https://t.co/oDNwNeCHKZ
At this point, you should be logged into GitHub and looking at Dogecoin Core's repository. Next:
4) Click "Issues" in the menu bar.
5) Click "New Issue".
6) Select "Bug Report".
You should then see a comment box with a template for filling out a Bug Report. If not, this link should take you there: https://t.co/zc32cWOkXR
Filling out this template completely and concisely is crucial, as it provides maintainers with the information needed to diagnose and address your issue.
After submitting, a response may take a couple of hours, though sometimes longer. To stay updated, click the "subscribe" button on the issue page to receive notifications. If you don't receive any, it might be good to check back regularly.
What Happens Next
A core developer will attempt to replicate the issue on their machine. If they encounter difficulties, they may request additional information, such as your debug log. Generally, the Dogecoin Core team is quite approachable, so don't hesitate to ask questions.
If the developer successfully replicates the issue, they will tag it to inform other developers/maintainers of its severity and to initiate the resolution process.
Final Words
Reporting issues on GitHub is straightforward. Although the process might seem daunting initially, it's quite accessible if you're familiar with using a computer and can follow the instructions provided in the bug report template.

UPDATE | #DogecoinCore
The 'fee estimate' bug that was raised yesterday has now been thoroughly investigated by Dogecoin Core maintainer Patrick Lodder. The problem, Patrick said in his latest update on Github relates to "two major problems with the fee estimation logic".
The solution to this problem had already been dreamt up, and was intended to be released with Dogecoin Core 1.21. But now, with a significant problem on our hands due to current levels of spam on the Dogecoin Network, a patch will need to be expedited much sooner.
You can read more about Patrick's analysis, and diagnosis here:

NEWS | #DogecoinCore
A GitHub user on dogecoin/dogecoin has reported a bug when calling DOGE nodes for fee estimates. The calls seem to be returning some interesting results (shown in the example below).
Dogecoin Core maintainer Patrick Lodder has been able to replicate the issue, on a number of different nodes, suggesting the bug is a global issue.
Follow issue #3385 on GitHub for updates on this bug as they happen at: https://t.co/OAGhvEpgyX.
