On Tuesday, Hon @NankabirwaRS represented H.E @jessica_alupo in the Regional Launch of the $638m Electricity Access Scale-up Project (EASP) in Katakwi District.
The EASP will add over 1,750,000 new customers to the Electricity distribution Grid.

Step 4: The technical surveyor from the Utility Company will visit your premise to cross-check the standard of wiring.
Upon passing the survey for your premise, you will be connected to electricity.

Step 3: Pay inspection fees and initial energy fees to the Utility Company. Payment can also be done through MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money.

The applicant must have the following;
Wiring certificate
Identification documents i.e. National ID.
A map showing where the premise is.
Wayleave- permission from landowners through which the line will pass (if applicable)

Step 1: Get a certified wireman to do your premise wiring and upon completion, he/she will issue you with a wiring certificate & photocopy of his wiring permit.
Step 2: Apply for a free connection with the Utility Company in charge of your area.

Steps to Getting a Free Electricity Connection;
All customers within a radius of 90meters will benefit from the Electricity Access Scale-up Project. These are customers who require a No Pole or a Pole Service to be connected to electricity.
